Around twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast found themselves experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms passed over the state, producing wind gusts hitting 109km/h.

Large Ice Stones and Widespread Damage

Locals reported giant hailstones as large as 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore electricity service throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units working to address the extensive power failures.

Victoria's Storm Challenges

Simultaneously, approximately one thousand energy customers in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the metropolitan area saw its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.

Rescue organizations received over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

• Wyndham - over 175 help reports

At one point on Sunday, more than 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.

Climate Outlook

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.

Tomorrow was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent storm activity anticipated across multiple regions of both states.

Public health experts cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
